"Access to Justice for Women Human Rights Defenders" CSW70 parallel event
In the context of escalating attacks and reprisals against women human rights defenders (WHRDs) globally, the Women Human Rights Defenders International Coalition and its members invite you to a CSW parallel event entitled “Access to Justice for Women Human Rights Defenders”.
Our cross-regional panel will offer an intersectional analysis of WHRDs’ access to justice and the structural barriers that impede it. Speakers will explore how WHRDs are criminalized, harassed, and silenced for their activism in diverse political and social contexts, and will highlight effective documentation, advocacy, and protection strategies that sustain their work and resilience.
Drawing on concrete examples of transnational solidarity, the event will emphasize the importance of collective action and cross-movement collaboration in advancing accountability, protection, and justice for WHRDs worldwide.
